April 21st - The home stretch
You should all be working on your final projects for Fahrenheit 451. You have plenty of time to work on it, so I expect the project and writing to exemplary, and not something "borrowed" or thrown together. Have fun with it! If you need some help with something, let me know.

Week of January 7th
: Hello. You should be using the wiki, and defining your idea of "literature" and editing, adding and saving the literature page.

Week of January 14th: You guys are getting caught up I see, and doing such a great job with the analysis and interpretations. Make sure that you read the writing assignment question carefully, and that you address it in your short essays. Also make sure that your are posting the essays in MLA format and spell/grammar checking them.

I am posting grades as I complete sections. I will be done with all that is posted as of 10:00 1/19 today and have grades posted to Blackboard. Some are already posted. I will of course check on Monday for those entries completed tomorrow. Then we should all be on track for Week 3 and the due dates :) Due to the number of posts - shew! wow! - I am not able to comment as much as I would like to comment. In the coming weeks it will get easier, and I should be able to comment all during the week because we will all be caught up ;)

Week of January 21st: I am almost done grading all of the late work and last week's posts, so I will make sure to double check all of the grades on Blackboard as well. I have updated the Assignments page, which I am sure will make some of you very happy :) So if you had printed it out originally, you may want a new copy. If you are behind, try to catch up by Sunday, January 27th.

I have added some things to the Character Page as a way of helping you understand my comments and where you might have gone astray. What I have added are things that you should be looking for yourselves; however, I will try to go through and give you some more places to look for information. Remember that the wiki essay posts are just a portion of your grade and averaged together. DO NOT get freaked out! You can also go back and respond to my comments if you like. I may not respond back to those, but I will definitely read them for consideration.

Week of February 4th: Wow! So much happening. Does anyone else feel like they have NO time at all?? So, I am finishing up on last week's work today and checking for any last minute late work. I will not search for it though. Make sure that you have edited the Literature page and added your definition and saved the page. There are about 10 of you who have not done this assignment from Week 1.

Fahrenheit 451 is available in my office for a nominal fee of $ 4.00, but I only have six copies left, so first come, first served.

You should all be working on Paper #1. Make sure to pay close attention to the question asked and the task at hand. Use direct quotes from the texts as evidence to support your claims which in turn support your thesis. Make sure that the paper is in MLA format (example in the small supplement that each of you should have by now.) If not, I have a few of those left as well. Then you should attach the document to the wiki. SO, you save your document with your name, then you edit the Paper 1 page, then using the tree icon in the tool bar, you browse, select and upload your document. Then place your cursor where you would like your document to go, then double-click on your document in the downloads box, and poof- there it is! Then Save the page and you are done. I suggest that all of you check to make sure that your document opens :) If you need help, you can always come by my office. Monday until about 4:30p; Tuesdays 1-4, Wednesdays 9-12, Thursdays 11-2 (these are also listed under Instructor Info.)

Week of March 10
You should all be working on Paper #2. Make sure that you address both parts of the question. You will see that the page for Paper #2 is already set up to accept your attached documents. Make sure to attach your document in the square next to your name. If you have any questions or want to bounce some ideas off of me - come and see me or give me a ring - 980-329-9351.
